I CUT MY BANGS ON YOUTUBE!
I'm certainly no stranger to cutting my bangs. As a matter of fact, if you follow me on YouTube, you probably know I'm always doing something different with my hair. I get bored quite easily.
With all of that said...
Cutting my bangs on YouTube was a whole new experience for me! The probability of messing up big time was quite high. Thank goodness they came out okay. I'm still considering putting dreadlock extension in though. If you're not familiar with my dreadlocks story and my tutorials, you can visit my other channel for now. I will eventually be moving it to this channel as I don't have the time or energy to keep up with separate channels anymore. In the meantime, please feel free to visit my dreadlocks channel here: Chrissy Dreadlocks - YouTube.
If you haven't watched the video of me cutting my bangs, go ahead and Click Here as I will be talking about a few things from my video.
First and foremost, I wanted to get everyone's opinion on whether or not I should dread my bangs again. While I'm fairly satisfied with the way they turned out today, I know for a fact that I'm going to want to change them up soon. What do you think? Please leave your suggestion / opinion in the comments area of the video Right Here! Here's a picture of my dreadlock bangs:
Don't mind my eyebrows in that picture. I don't know what in the world possessed me to try the stamping eyebrows that were all the rage a couple of years ago. Someone should have said something! Back to cutting my bangs on YouTube...
The reason I decided to do it on YouTube is because I see a lot of videos where people are super upset because they messed up. When you mess up your bangs, there's really not much you can do about it. Nine times out of ten, they cut them too short and can't even get them back in a ponytail to hide the mistake. So, I wanted to share how I cut my bangs and what I use to do it. As you will see in the video, I don't use traditional scissors when I cut my bangs. I use thinning shears like the ones shown below. You can get them on Amazon here: Thinning Shears For Hair Cutting.
The reason I use thinning shears and not regular scissors is because you get more of a "shag" edge. It makes it look more professional than cutting your bangs straight across with regular scissors. It also helps when you're leaving the edges of your bangs a bit longer. It thins the sides out without giving up much of the length and it helps it blend more. It's a bit hard to explain which is why you should really watch the video to see what I'm talking about :) Click Here To Watch.
If you've already watched the video and you've come here to find out about the things I used (backdrop, straightener, shears, etc...), I'll put the list below.
Hope you all have an amazing day!
